Student Sustainability Showcase: Daniel Garcia Calao

Center for the Business of Sustainability Event Planner Intern, Daniel Garcia, helps the center research our Case Competitions, as well as researching sustainability initiatives and how to make the center more prominent.
Outside of CBoS, Daniel is a member of the Student Sustainability Advisory Council (SSAC) on Penn State's campus. This council is dedicated to advancing and promoting sustainability, working with Student Affairs, UPUA, and Penn State Sustainability to ensure a balance between human health, environmental quality, and economic well-being. SSAC is one of the main sustainable groups on campus. They maintain direct communication with Penn State higher-ups and meet biweekly to discuss and engage in sustainability activities.
Garcia acts as a member of the financial committee. Their focus is to research ways for PSU to secure additional funding to put towards sustainability projects.
" I’m excited to actively engage in driving meaningful environmental change on campus," Garcia states. "With my background in finance and environmental initiatives, I’m eager to apply my research skills and collaborate with peers and faculty to support impactful sustainability programs."
