Center for the Business of Sustainability Welcomes a New Internship Team

As Penn State's new school year starts, there comes the beginning of a new workforce for the Center for the Business of Sustainability.
With some returning members, and many new faces, CBoS has a team of eight interns who focus on enhancing the center's work through communications, case competitions, and research.
Communications Team
Molly Sneddon - Salesforce Data Management Specialist Intern
Junior
Molly, a Penn State marketing major, is the salesforce data management specialist intern. She has been with the center since January 2024, and previously occupied the position of event planning specialist. In her current position, Molly creates the bi-monthly newsletters for the Center and is currently working on updating the content on the CBoS main webpage.
Katherine Schreiner - Marketing and Communications Intern
Junior
Katherine Schreiner is a journalism major at Penn State. At the Center for the Business of Sustainability, Katherine's main focus lis the Major Sustainability and Triple Bottom Lion (TBL) websites. Her work also ventures into staying current with sustainable events around campus as well as assisting with social media and the CBoS main webpage. As the primary journalist, readers can expect to primarily hear from Katherine on TBL.
Jordan Rhodes - Social Media and Graphics Intern
Junior
Jordan Rhodes is a strategic communications major at Penn State. At the Center for the Business of Sustainability, Jordan mainly focuses on curating social media posts. She is currently assisting in updating the center's website and its adjacent site, Major Sustainability.
Case Competitions Team
Hope Glaze - Engagement Coordinator Intern
Senior
Hope Glaze is the engagement coordinator intern at CBoS. Hope is a senior marketing major with minors in environmental inquiry and labor and human resources. She manages the case competitions that the center hosts, completing duties such as creating and promoting marketing material for the competition, developing engagement opportunities, and assisting on the day of the competition to ensure it runs smoothly.
Owen Perry - Event Planning Specialist Intern
Junior
Owen is a junior from State College, PA, studying finance and global studies. This past summer, he interned as an analyst at Bank of America on their global markets sales & trading team. Additionally, he is involved in the Sapphire Academy Leadership Program and the Presidential Leadership Academy. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with friends, watching Penn State sports, and traveling. At CBoS, he works to plan and organize the center's case competitions, which challenge both graduate and undergraduate students to bridge the gap between sustainability and business systems. Specifically, Owen has an interest in the relationship between clean energy transition projects and major financial institutions.
Daniel Garcia - Event Planning Specialist Intern
Junior
Daniel Garcia is a junior international student from Colombia, pursuing a dual major in finance and economics with minors in Supply Chain Management and Information Science Technology. He works as the event planning specialist at the Center for the Business of Sustainability, where he conducts research for various case competitions that the center hosts. These competitions are open to Penn State students, as well as students those from other universities. In this role, Daniel is also responsible for planning and organizing the logistics of all the case competition related events.

Beatrice Ke - Impact Careers Specialist Intern
Junior
Beatrice Kea is a junior at Penn State and occupies the role of impact careers specialist intern. She researches ESG impact careers across sectors, providing a tangible resource for students, alums, and coaches. Additionally, Beatrice focuses on demonstrating a solid commitment to career development, showing dedication to equity and inclusion, and managing projects.
Yaquelyn Rivera - Research Specialist Intern
Junior
Yaquelyn Rivera is a research specialist at the Smeal Center for the Business of Sustainability. Yaquelyn's main role is as a grant writer, where she actively searches for funding opportunities and crafts proposals. In addition, she works as a research assistant, offering support to Smeal researchers whenever needed.
