Smeal Open Forum: Come Shape the Vision for Sustainability!

The college has over 30 faculty (across all depts) with research in this field and through our core courses, we have reached over 12,000 undergraduates with the business case for sustainability message. But we can and must do more. What: SMEAL OPEN FORUM: Come Shape the Vision of a New Smeal Center for Sustainability When: April 23 and 24 12:00 – 1:00 PM (come to one or both!) Where: Room 217 Who: Interested faculty, students and staff The Smeal Director of Sustainability, Erik Foley, will be hosting these two college-wide open forums to invite comment on a proposed new research and education center for sustainability.

Cannot attend in person? Email Erik at erik@psu.edu and he can send you a page being created for next week with a short video presentation about the center and a discussion board for your comments.

The proposed center has been developed after many months of benchmarking, internal analysis, dialogues with faculty, students, staff, alumni and business leaders. However, there are many faculty, students and staff interested in this emerging topic who haven't had an opportunity to contribute to the vision. These open forums are meant for their important ideas. There will be a short presentation followed by Q&A and open discussion. There will also be an Idea Wall and lots of sticky notes to capture all YOUR ideas. There will be light refreshments provided.
